Privacy Policy - Primer Pay Browser Extension

Primer Pay is a browser extension that enables automatic x402 micropayments. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about what data we collect and how we use it.

[01] x WHAT_WE_DONT_COLLECT
  • x Private keys or recovery phrases - These never leave your device
  • x Wallet addresses - We do not track or store your blockchain address
  • x Browsing history - We do not monitor which websites you visit
  • x Payment destinations - We do not track which domains you pay
  • x Personal information - No names, emails, or identifying information
[02] + WHAT_WE_DO_COLLECT
Anonymous Analytics (via PostHog)

We collect anonymous usage metrics to improve the extension:

  • + Wallet creation/import events (not the wallet itself)
  • + Payment counts and amount ranges (e.g., "$0.10-$1", not exact amounts)
  • + Network selection (e.g., "Base", "Ethereum")
  • + Feature usage (settings changes, lock/unlock events)
  • + Error types (for debugging)

These events cannot be linked to your identity or wallet address.

Error Reporting (via Sentry)

When errors occur, we collect:

  • + Error messages and stack traces
  • + Browser and extension version
  • x No wallet data, addresses, or transaction details

All sensitive data is stored locally on your device:

  • * Encrypted wallet data (AES-256-GCM encryption)
  • * PIN-protected access
  • * Spend settings and preferences
  • * Transaction history

This data is never transmitted to our servers.

The extension makes the following external requests:

  • > RPC Providers - To check balances and submit transactions (Alchemy, public RPCs)
  • > x402 Facilitators - To process gasless payments (only payment authorization data)
  • > PostHog - Anonymous analytics
  • > Sentry - Error reports
